Bosch Hob Repair in Dubai
A Bosch hob that stops working usually does one of six things: it will not switch on, it switches on but one zone or burner stays cold, it shuts itself off in the middle of cooking, it beeps or shows a code, the gas burner clicks but never lights, or the glass is cracked. Each of those has a short list of likely causes, and a few of them cost nothing to fix. A technician can normally find the cause at your home in one visit and give you a fixed AED price before any work starts. Book before 4 pm and most areas of Dubai get a visit the same day.
This page covers Bosch cooker repairs for induction hobs, ceramic (radiant) hobs and gas hobs, the three types sold under the Bosch name for built-in kitchens. It is written for the person standing in front of a dead hob, so the checks come first and the repair information after them.
We are an independent Bosch appliance repair company, not the manufacturer. If your hob is still inside Bosch's warranty, contact Bosch first. Our independent service center page explains how to decide.

Bosch hob repair in Dubai: what we fix and which hobs
We repair Bosch built-in hobs in homes across Dubai: induction hobs, ceramic hobs, gas hobs and the gas-on-glass type, which has burners set into a glass top. The same visit covers the controls, the heating or burner parts and the glass.

Which type you own decides almost everything about the diagnosis, so it is worth confirming before you call. The next section shows how to tell.
Some Bosch induction hobs include a ventilation unit in the hob itself, so the extraction sits in the worktop and not in a hood overhead. If you own one, tell us the model when you book. We check those against the model before quoting, since the extraction section adds parts that a plain hob does not have. If the fault is in a wall hood and not the hob, see our cooker hood repair page.
Here is how much the range varies in the UAE, with one Bosch hob listed by a UAE retailer on 2 November 2026:
| Model | Type | Listed features | ACE price (AED) |
|---|---|---|---|
| PXX675DV1E | Induction (the listing says "4-burner induction hob", 60 x 50 cm) | FlexInduction zone, DirectSelect Premium controls, PowerBoost, 11,100 W, 1-year manufacturer warranty | 4,679 (was 4,999) |
Retailer pages change often and can carry errors, so treat this as a snapshot and not a price list. This one carries two. The listing does not name a series. And its title says "built-in" while its description says "surface mount with frame", which are different installations. A second price site we found titles the same model code "Series 8 built-in ceramic hob". We could not read that page, so we cannot tell you which description is right. If you are matching a replacement to a cut-out, check the installation type with the seller before you pay. We use this listing later in the page to work out whether a repair is worth it.
Which kind of hob do you have?
Look at the surface and the controls.
- A flat black or dark glass surface with touch controls and no visible flame or glowing rings is most likely induction. Bosch's Singapore support page describes the principle plainly: the pan must contain iron. Hold a magnet to the base. If it sticks firmly, the pan works on induction.
- A flat glass surface where red rings glow under the pan is a ceramic or radiant hob. The element sits under the glass and heats it. The glass is hot after you switch off, and the display usually shows a residual-heat warning.
- Visible burners with caps, grates and ignition plugs is gas. Turning the knob should produce clicking. On a gas-on-glass hob the burners are fixed in a glass panel but the principle is the same.
Controls vary between models, so they will not always settle it. The rating plate does, but on an installed hob the plate may be out of reach, so look for the E-Nr and FD numbers in the instruction booklet, on the warranty card, on the box, or on the invoice. Bosch Singapore asks customers to have the E-Nr and FD numbers ready before they call, and we ask for the same. A photo of the booklet page or the box label is enough, and it saves us a return trip if the first visit needs a part.
Safety first: what not to do
Three situations call for caution before any fault-finding.
If you smell gas, do not try the burners again. Bosch's gas hob troubleshooting page that we read does not cover a gas smell, so we cannot quote Bosch on it. Our suggestion is the ordinary one: leave the kitchen, keep the area ventilated, do not operate light switches or other electrical devices near it, and call your gas supplier or your building's emergency contact. The same applies to a cylinder smell. Message us on WhatsApp afterwards, once the supply is made safe. We repair the hob. We do not repair the supply.
If the glass is cracked, switch the hob off at the isolator or breaker and stop cooking on it. Bosch's induction page we read does not cover cracked glass, so this is our suggestion and not a Bosch instruction. A crack in a ceramic or induction top is a risk because liquid can reach the electronics underneath. Do not wipe over the crack with a wet cloth. Put a tray or a board over it, keep children away, and message us on WhatsApp. The section on cracked glass explains what happens next.
If the breaker trips the moment you switch the hob on, do not keep resetting it. Bosch's UK and Singapore pages both say that major electrical faults need a professional electrician. A hob that trips its circuit is not a cleaning problem. Leave it off and book.
For everything else, the checks below are safe to do yourself. They involve nothing more than a damp cloth, a magnet, the control panel and, on gas, a soft brush on a cold burner. Do not remove the hob from the worktop, do not open the underside, and do not work on gas or mains wiring. Both are jobs for a technician or a licensed fitter.
Check these before you book: induction hobs
Bosch's UK and Singapore pages for "induction hob not working" list three checks, and Bosch's US owner support page adds several more. Work through them in this order.
Is the child lock on? Both regional pages put this first. Bosch says the safety lock can make the hob unresponsive even though it has power, and the fix is to hold the key symbol for about 3 to 4 seconds, depending on your model. Bosch's US page gives 4 seconds. If your hob has no key symbol, the booklet has the key press. To lock it again, the US page says to switch the hob off, hold the lock symbol for 4 seconds and wait for the light beside it to stay lit for 10 seconds.
Is it in demo mode? Bosch's US page lists "dE" with zones that do not heat. Its explanation is that demo mode is active, and its fix is to cut power for 30 seconds at the circuit breaker, then touch any control within 3 minutes. This is most relevant for a hob that has just been installed or has been through a power interruption. We have not found a Bosch source that says why demo mode comes on by itself, so we do not offer a reason.
Is the control panel wet, or is something on it? The US page says that when all the displays flash, the control panel is wet or has an object on it. Dry the panel or remove the object. A pan lid, a cloth or a chopping board resting on the touch area is enough to make a hob misbehave. Boiling water that spills over onto the controls does the same.
Is the pan the right kind? Bosch UK says to use ferromagnetic cookware. Bosch Singapore gives the magnet test. A pan made of aluminium, glass or copper alone will not heat on an induction zone. A stainless pan with a fully non-magnetic base will not either. We have not found a Bosch statement of the minimum pan diameter a zone needs, so we do not give a figure. If a pan that passes the magnet test is still not detected, try a different pan of the same size on the same zone and then on another zone. That tells you whether the fault is the pan or the zone.
Is the hob getting power? The UK page says to check the fuse box (consumer unit) for a blown or tripped switch or fuse, and adds that "any major electrical faults will need to be repaired by a professional electrician". If the display is entirely dark, check the breaker for the hob circuit. Reset it once. If it trips again, stop and book.
Does the hob show a code? The next section deals with codes. Read the code on the display or, on some models, hold the zone's touch key to read it, as Bosch's US page describes.
The general reset. Bosch's US page says to turn the cooktop off, disconnect power for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, restore power and turn it on to see whether the code returns. This is a switch-off at the breaker, not a task that involves touching any wiring. If the code is not on Bosch's list or returns after the reset, Bosch's instruction is to contact support and give the exact code. Ours is the same: tell us the code and we will tell you what it points to.
If none of these explains the problem, the symptom guides below are the next step.
Find your fault: induction hobs
The hob does not turn on at all
A dead display usually has one of four causes: the circuit breaker, a child lock that is hiding behind a dark screen, a wet control panel, or a failed power or control module. Bosch's regional pages cover the first three. The fourth is why the visit exists.
Here is how a technician separates them. Power at the isolator and a dark hob means the fault is inside the hob. If the breaker has tripped, the technician looks for what made it trip before resetting it. If the breaker is fine and the display is dark, the control module and the power module are the candidates. Replacing the control module is the most expensive induction repair on our price table, since the module carries the touch sensors, the display and, on many models, the power electronics.
One zone works and the others do not
Start by moving a magnetic pan from the dead zone to a working zone, and the other way round. If the same pan heats on one zone and not the other, the pan is fine and the zone is the problem. If a pan heats on neither, the pan is the problem.
Our reading is that a single dead zone points to that zone's coil or its driver and not to the whole hob. That is a repair, and we expect the price to fall in the middle of the range and not at the top. Bosch's US page lists F1 and F6 as a cooking zone that overheated and shut off to protect the work surface. That is a protection message, not a failed zone. Let the hob cool, switch the zone back on, and see if it returns.
The hob shuts off by itself while you cook
Four causes show up in Bosch's US code list.
The first is the time limit. Bosch lists F8 with H or h, with zones not heating, as an automatic time limit triggered after continuous operation without interaction. The fix is to touch any control, set the zone, and carry on. A long simmer with no touch on the controls is enough to trigger it.
The second is heat in the electronics. The US page lists F2, F4 and E7015 as the electronics having overheated and the zone shut off, and U2 or U3 as the cooking element having overheated. In both cases Bosch's answer is to let the system cool and then switch on again. Our suggestion: check whether the pan was left empty or whether anything is blocking the airflow around the hob. A hob that overheats repeatedly with normal use needs a technician.
The third is hot cookware near the panel. F5, with a beep, means hot cookware near the control panel put the electronics at risk. Remove the pan, wait a few seconds, touch any control and resume once the electronics have cooled.
The fourth is the supply. Bosch lists U1, U400, E9000 and E9010 as the supply voltage being outside the normal range, and its instruction is to contact the electric utility or the Bosch support line. In Dubai that means your building's maintenance office if the problem might be internal, or DEWA for a supply problem. If other appliances on the same circuit misbehave at the same time, the supply is the more likely cause, and a hob repair will not fix it.
The hob beeps and the display flashes
A flashing display with beeping has three explanations on Bosch's list: the panel is wet, an object is on it, or hot cookware is near it. The US page also lists a flashing "—" as an electronics fault, with the instruction to cover the control panel briefly with your hand to acknowledge it. If it returns every time you switch the hob on, that is a control fault, and it needs a technician.
The fan runs loudly, or keeps running after you stop cooking
Many induction hobs have a cooling fan, since the electronics produce heat. We could not find a Bosch page that sets out normal fan behaviour, and Bosch Singapore's page explicitly leaves fan noise to the manual. So we do not state a normal run time. The signs we treat as a reason to call are a fan that grinds or rattles, a fan that never stops even when the hob is cold, and a fan that runs together with an overheating code.
Induction clicking, buzzing and humming
We have no Bosch source on which noises are normal, so we say only this: if the noise changes when you swap the pan, the pan is the likely cause. If the noise comes with the hob switched on and no pan on it, or comes with a code or a burning smell, switch off and book.
Find your fault: ceramic (radiant) hobs
Ceramic hobs heat an element under the glass. Bosch's US owner support has a separate error-code page for electric cooktops, and we did not read it, so we do not quote Bosch codes for ceramic hobs. The general checks overlap with induction, and the booklet for your hob has the code table for its controls.
The same first steps apply: a locked panel, a wet or covered panel, a tripped breaker, and the reset described above. After those, the common faults are these.
A ring that does not glow. The element, its limiter or the control for that ring has failed. Your pan does not matter on a ceramic hob, so there is no pan test. If one ring works and another does not, the fault sits with the dead ring, and the repair is a part for that ring.
A ring that stays on at full power, or never switches off. The control for that ring is not regulating. Switch off at the breaker, because a ring stuck on is a burn risk and a fire risk. In our experience the control is the part replaced.
A ring that never reaches temperature, or switches off unprompted. A technician reads the element and the limiter.
A cracked or chipped surface. See the section on glass.
Find your fault: gas hobs
A Bosch gas hob has three jobs to do: send gas to the burner, ignite it, and keep the flame stable. The faults sort themselves by which of those has failed. Everything below that involves a burner involves a cold burner, with the knob off.
The burner will not light
Bosch US lists the checks in this order. First the gas supply: confirm it is on, the gas valve is open and nothing interrupts the gas line. Second, the burner ports: remove the burner cap and grate, then clear the burner head with a soft brush or compressed air, because food debris or grease can clog the ports. Third, the igniter: listen for a click when you turn the knob. No click may mean a faulty igniter.
Bosch's own caution is worth repeating. If there is gas but no flame, "turn the knob off quickly and securely". Do not leave a knob open while you wait for a spark.
Bosch UK adds two causes for a hob that does not spark: dirt between the ignition plug and the burner, and burner parts that are not seated properly. It says to make sure the area is clean and dry, then check that every burner part is seated correctly. If there is no spark and no ticking sound at all, the UK page says the power may be off and suggests checking the fuse box for a tripped fuse. A gas hob still needs mains power for the igniter. The UK page also says to ask an electrician to confirm the appliance was installed correctly, since the connection may be disrupted or damaged.
It clicks but there is no flame
Clicking means the igniter works, and the problem is that gas is not getting to the burner or that the burner is wet or blocked. The checks above apply: gas supply on, valve open, ports clear, cap seated.
If you have just cleaned the hob, moisture is the first suspect. Bosch Singapore says to let moisture evaporate after cleaning and that excess moisture can stop a uniform flame from forming. Dry the cap and the burner head properly before you try again.
The burner lights, then goes out
Bosch Singapore lists the same two main causes: a dirty or partly blocked burner, and parts that are not aligned correctly. It also says not to light the burner from the minimum position. Light it, then turn the flame down. It also says to check that the child lock is off and no fuse has tripped.
If the flame dies the moment you release the knob on every burner, that is a different pattern from one burner on its own. We have no Bosch source that explains what part is responsible, so we do not guess. Tell us whether it is one burner or all of them when you book.
The flame is uneven
Bosch US points to the burner cap first: it must be centred and seated securely on the base, and an off-centre cap is a common cause. Then the burner head, which needs regular cleaning with a non-abrasive brush so debris does not disrupt the flame. If the flame is uneven after a clean and a correct fit, the burner head and the gas path are the next things a technician checks.
The flame is too low
Bosch US lists two causes. Blocked ports restrict gas flow, so clean them with a non-abrasive brush. And a faulty gas regulator can reduce gas pressure. Bosch's advice on the regulator is to contact your gas supplier if you suspect this. Follow it. The regulator belongs to the supply, not to the hob.
A knob that is stiff, loose or misaligned
Bosch US notes that misaligned or damaged knobs can stop gas reaching the burner. A knob that has been pulled off and refitted wrongly is one explanation. A knob that has gone loose on its spindle, or a spindle that turns hard, needs a technician, since the valve sits behind it.
Gas on glass
A gas-on-glass hob has a glass top with burners set into it, so the glass is part of the diagnosis. The burner checks above apply as they stand. The glass follows the same rules as any other Bosch hob top, covered in the next but one section.
Bosch hob error codes
The table below sets out the codes on Bosch's US induction page. They are US codes, and Bosch UAE does not publish a matching list that we could find. The same codes appear on many Bosch induction hobs, but your booklet decides the final meaning for your model. We list only what Bosch states, and we group the codes by what you can do.
| Code | What Bosch says | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| dE | Demo mode is active and zones do not heat | Cut power for 30 seconds at the breaker, then touch any control within 3 minutes |
| F8 with H or h | Automatic time limit after continuous operation without interaction | Touch any control, set the zone and continue |
| F1, F6 | Cooking zone overheated and shut off to protect the worktop | Let the electronics cool, then switch the zone on again |
| F2, F4, E7015 | Electronics overheated and the zone shut off | Let it cool, touch any control, carry on once the message clears |
| U2, U3 | Cooking element overheated and shut off | Let the electronics cool, then switch the hob on again |
| F5 | Hot cookware near the control panel | Remove the cookware, wait a few seconds, touch a control |
| Flashing displays | Panel is wet or something is on it | Dry the panel or remove the object |
| Flashing "—" | Electronics fault | Briefly cover the control panel with your hand to acknowledge |
| E7010 | The hob cannot connect to your home network or hood | Switch off and on. If it returns, give Bosch the code |
| U1, U400, E9000, E9010 | Supply voltage outside the normal range | Contact the electric utility or Bosch support |
| E or F (not listed) | A fault occurred | Unplug for 30 seconds, restore, and if it returns give the exact code |
Read the table as a decision tree, not a list of faults. Most of the codes in it are the hob protecting itself, and Bosch's answer to those is time or a changed habit. Three of them point to something a technician fixes: a flashing "—" that returns, a code that comes back after the reset, and a code that appears without any of the triggers described.
The E7010 code is the one most likely to cause confusion. It says the hob cannot connect to a home network or a hood. Bosch's wording describes a connection failure, and its fix is to switch the hob off and on. We have not found a Bosch statement on whether the zones still work while the code shows, so check your booklet.
We have not found a Bosch list of codes for gas hobs, since they do not have displays. The gas faults are described by symptom in the section above.
Cracked glass and surface damage
A cracked or chipped hob top is a repair we assess on the model, not on a flat price. Two reasons: the glass is a part that differs by model code, and the question of how the top fits to the worktop differs by installation.
What you can do before we arrive:
- Switch the hob off at the breaker or isolator. Do not rely on the touch controls.
- Cover the surface so nothing spills into the crack.
- Do not clean the crack with a wet cloth.
- Send us a photo of the whole hob and a close-up of the damage, plus the model code from the booklet or the box.
We treat a crack, a chip near an edge or a line that spreads as a reason to stop using the hob until it is assessed. For induction hobs in particular, our reading is that a crack on a hob that has an electronics board underneath is a reason to stop using it. Bosch's pages we read do not say this, so it is our caution, not Bosch's.
We replace glass tops where the part is available for the model code. If it is not, we tell you before you pay for the visit beyond the inspection, and we say whether a replacement hob makes more sense.
What a Bosch hob repair costs in Dubai
The AED 99 inspection includes the visit, the diagnosis and a written quote. If you approve the repair, the AED 99 comes off the repair price. If you decline, it is all you pay. The table shows typical prices by fault, all excluding 5% VAT.
| Fault | Usual cause | Typical fix | Time on site | Price (AED) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Induction zone not heating | Coil or zone driver | Replace the coil or the driver | 60 to 120 min | 250 – 560 |
| Hob dead or no display | Power or control module | Replace the module | 60 to 150 min | 350 – 780 |
| Touch controls unresponsive | Control board | Repair or replace the board | 60 to 150 min | 300 – 700 |
| Cooling fan fault | Fan or its supply | Replace the fan | 45 to 90 min | 200 – 400 |
| Ceramic ring not heating | Element or limiter | Replace the element or limiter | 45 to 120 min | 220 – 500 |
| Gas burner will not light | Igniter, plug or burner part | Clean, refit or replace the part | 30 to 90 min | 200 – 420 |
| Gas knob or valve fault | Knob, valve or spindle | Replace the knob or valve | 45 to 120 min | 220 – 480 |
| Cracked or broken glass | Impact or heat stress | Replace the top where the part exists | 60 to 150 min | Quoted on model |
Three things move a quote within its range. The part matters most: a gas igniter costs far less than a control board. Access matters, since a hob set into a worktop has to be isolated and lifted. And stock: if the part is not on the van, the price is the same but you wait for a second visit.
A worked example: your Bosch induction hob has one dead zone, and the technician finds a failed coil. The all-in price is AED 380, and the AED 99 inspection is included in that figure. VAT adds AED 19, so you pay AED 399. If you decline the quote, you pay AED 99 plus AED 4.95 VAT, a total of AED 103.95.
Payment is by card, cash or bank transfer, and every visit gets a VAT invoice with the part numbers listed.
Repair or replace?
Compare the written quote with the price of a comparable new hob. A workable rule: if the repair costs more than about half of a new equivalent, replace it. If the hob is past about twelve years and has had two serious faults, our rule of thumb is also to replace it. Neither number is a Bosch figure. Below that line, repair usually makes sense, since a coil, an igniter or a fan is a small part of the hob.
Prices help here. The only UAE price we could verify was the ACE listing for the PXX675DV1E at AED 4,679 on 2 November 2026. It is a four-zone induction hob with a flex zone, so it sits toward the upper end of what a home kitchen needs. We did not collect a UAE price for a basic Bosch induction hob or for a gas hob, so for those the sensible comparison is the listed price of your own model from a UAE seller, not ours.
Using the AED 4,679 as the reference:
- Dead induction zone, quote AED 420. That is about 9% of the listed price. Repair it.
- Control board failure, quote AED 780. That is about 17% of the listed price. If the glass and the other zones are fine, repair is the sensible option.
- Cracked glass on an induction hob with a quote of AED 700. That is about 15%. If the model is current and the part exists, repair. If the part is discontinued, we say so before you spend money.
The case for replacing is a hob with several faults at once, a top that is cracked and where no glass is available, or a repair quote that approaches half the price of a new hob. If our advice is to buy new, you owe only the inspection fee.
Also check the installation. A replacement has to fit the same cut-out, and a built-in hob and a surface-mount hob are not interchangeable. This is the point the ACE listing raised. The size shown on that listing, 60 x 50 cm, does not say which figure is the width, so measure your cut-out and compare it with the manufacturer's drawing.
A note on warranty. The ACE listing states a 1-year manufacturer warranty on the PXX675DV1E. If you bought your hob recently, check the warranty before you pay for a repair, because a free repair under warranty is better than a paid one.
For a longer schedule covering every Bosch appliance, see the maintenance table on our Bosch service center page.
Keeping a hob running
A few habits prevent callouts.
- Wipe spills as soon as the hob has cooled. On a gas hob, boil-overs are what block the ports. On induction and ceramic hobs, wipe the glass once it is cool so spills do not bake on.
- Dry the panel after cleaning. Bosch lists a wet panel as the reason for a flashing display. A cloth left lying on the touch area does the same.
- Keep the burner parts seated. After washing the cap, put it back centred. Bosch calls an off-centre cap a common cause of an uneven flame, and Bosch Singapore says misaligned parts stop a burner staying lit.
- Use the right pans. Magnetic pans on induction. Lift pans instead of sliding them, to protect the glass.
- Do not leave hot pans near the controls. Bosch's F5 code is the hob objecting to exactly this.
- Do not ignore early signs. A burner that now takes several tries to light, a zone that cuts out more often, or a fan that has become noisier each tells you a fault is coming.
What to tell us when you book
The more precise the booking, the more likely the first visit ends in a finished repair. Have these ready:
- The type of hob. Induction, ceramic or gas.
- The model code, or the E-Nr and FD numbers. A photo of the booklet, the box or the invoice is enough.
- The symptom, in your own words. "The front left zone is dead and the others work" is more useful than "it's broken".
- The code, if any, and when it appeared. At switch-on, during cooking or after a boil-over.
- What you have already tried. Say if you checked the child lock, the panel, the breaker and the pan test.
- For gas: one burner or all of them, whether it clicks and whether the problem started after cleaning.
- For glass: a photo of the whole hob and of the damage.
- Age and history. How old the hob is and whether it has been repaired before.
- Where it is. A hob above a built-in oven or in an island takes longer to lift, and the technician needs to know before arriving.
- Access details. Building name, apartment, parking, and any approval your building management needs for technicians.
If you have a video of the fault, such as the flicker of the display or the sound of the ignition, send it by WhatsApp. A ten-second clip can settle the diagnosis before the visit.
How a visit works and the warranty
You book online or by WhatsApp. We confirm a two-hour window, and the technician messages you on WhatsApp 30 minutes before arriving. On site, they isolate the hob at the breaker, diagnose the fault, show you the failed part where possible, and give you a written quote with the part number. You approve or decline. If you approve, the repair is done on that visit when the part is on the van; if the part has to be ordered, you get the lead time before you say yes. We test the hob before we leave, and you receive a VAT invoice with the warranty end date.
On a gas hob we repair the appliance: igniters, plugs, burners, knobs and the valves on the hob. Gas supply, pipework and regulators belong to a licensed gas fitter or your gas supplier, and we tell you when a fault sits on that side of the line.
Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on the parts fitted and the labour for the repaired fault. If the same fault returns inside 90 days, we come back at no charge. We do not describe our parts as original Bosch. The part number is on your invoice, and our spare parts guide shows how to check it. The full process and what we do not cover are on the Bosch service center page. If your problem is an oven, see Bosch oven repair; for a dishwasher, see Bosch dishwasher repair.
We repair Bosch hobs across Dubai, with typical arrival times of 50 to 75 minutes after the technician sets off. Areas include Dubai Marina, JLT, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, JVC, Dubai Hills, Mirdif and Al Barsha. If your area is not listed, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you before you book. In towers and gated communities, send the building and apartment details with your booking so the technician is on the access list.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my Bosch induction hob not working?
Check the child lock first, as Bosch UK and Singapore both advise: hold the key symbol for about 3 to 4 seconds. Then check the fuse box, dry the control panel, and try a pan that sticks to a magnet. If none of that helps, note any code on the display and book an inspection.
Can I use any pan on a Bosch induction hob?
No. Bosch says to use ferromagnetic cookware, and Bosch Singapore gives a simple test: if a magnet sticks firmly to the base of the pan, it works on induction. Aluminium, glass and pure copper pans do not heat.
What does dE mean on a Bosch hob?
Bosch's US owner support page says dE means demo mode is active and the zones do not heat. Its fix is to cut power at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds and then touch any control within 3 minutes.
What does F5 mean on a Bosch hob?
Bosch's US page says F5 means hot cookware is near the control panel, which puts the electronics at risk. Remove the pan, wait a few seconds, touch any control and carry on once the electronics have cooled.
Why does my Bosch hob switch itself off?
The usual reasons on Bosch's US list are a time limit (F8 with H or h), overheated electronics (F2, F4, E7015), an overheated zone (F1, F6, U2, U3) and hot cookware near the panel (F5). Each has a short fix. A hob that switches off with none of these codes needs a technician.
Why will my Bosch gas hob click but not light?
Clicking means the igniter works. Check that the gas supply is on and the valve is open, that the burner ports are clear, and that the cap is dry and seated. Bosch Singapore says excess moisture after cleaning can stop a flame forming. If it still will not light, turn the knob off and book.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Do not try the burners again. Bosch's page we read does not cover this, so our suggestion is to leave the kitchen, ventilate, avoid switches and call your gas supplier or your building's emergency contact. We repair the hob once the supply is safe.
Is it worth repairing a Bosch hob?
Usually, yes, when the fault is a coil, an igniter, a fan or a knob. Compare the quote with the price of a comparable new hob. The only UAE listing we verified was AED 4,679 for the PXX675DV1E on 2 November 2026, and most repairs cost a small share of that.
Will a repair affect my Bosch warranty?
That depends on your warranty terms, and we cannot read them for you. If your hob is still in Bosch's warranty period, call Bosch first. If the warranty has ended, there is nothing to affect, and our 90-day warranty covers the repair we make.
